About the Fairfax Station, Burke, Lorton and the Fairfax County, Virginia Area Fairfax County has a history dating back to the early 1600s when the English first settled lands west of the Potomac River. When it was created as a county by the state assembly in 1742, Fairfax was primarily an agricultural community. As public roads and railroads expanded, the county’s population and economy grew as well. Presently, Fairfax County provides modern educational, industrial, and medical facilities for its more than 1 million residents. Natural scenery provides the background for many of the towns in Fairfax County. Burke, which has a population of more than 57,000 people, is located with minutes of Burke Lake Park and Lake Accotink Park. West of Burke is Fairfax Station, a close-knit community located just south of George Mason University. Residents and visitors alike travel to Lorton, a town located in the southern region of the county, to take advantage of the activities available nearby at Mason Neck State Park, Mount Vernon Estates and Gardens, Fort Belvoir, and Gunston Hall Plantation. It's our job to know EVERYTHING about Fairfax Station, Burke and Lorton! Ask us any question. Or request a FREE information package. Great curb appeal goes a long way toward attracting buyers to a home that is for sale. Many of our sales have been generated by a "For Sale" sign in front of a home that is beautifully landscaped. Prospective buyers who admire a home's exterior often prove to be among the most interested in the property.
An investment in attractive landscaping can help your home sell more quickly. If you have a moderately green thumb, you can get a lot of free advice from local nurseries. They can give you tips on what will look good in your yard, considering the time of year, the available light, and the type of plants that do well in the area. You will probably be able to choose from many attractive low-maintenance plants that will add color and vitality to your yard. Whatever the season, a few dollars invested in your front yard will usually reap much greater benefits than your original investment.
